I have a sponsor/friend from the states that can sell 29ers (or anything else) from Gary Fisher and Niner, and send them to you here via your APO. I always hear people talk about wanting new bikes but dealing with people you don't know can be a pain sometimes. Anyways, prices will be below or right at lowest range of retail. Let me know if anybody is interested.

So, let's get this discussion going and see how long it take the NERDMETER to ping out....

What GPSes do y'all use? I've had a magellan, I finally got it to work properly by buying a GARMIN for navigating and using the MAGELLAN to weigh down stacks of maps.

My MAGELLAN was absolute garbage. The GARMIN, so far , seems to be working... I have the Oregon 300... What do you guys use, where do you get trails inbfo etc... what are some tips you have for the newb to GPSing?

Guys,

Going back to riding Rodalben every Sunday. Meet at the cemetary at 8 a.m. for around 3 hour spin. It's OK if you want to go ahead or fall back. You can't get lost if you follow the "F" Trail. Right now...there aren't many leaves on the trail....but who cares anyway??? It is awesome if you had to do it anyways.

Rode it last weekend, had a couple of spills. One knocked the wind out of me...thought I busted the sternum..this ride is a mecca for those who haven't ...

Is the Zipp 303 Wheelset really worth $2,300? I came across these looking for a decent wheelset that will allow me to race and still put plenty of training miles on them. In my opinion it seems a little over priced, and yet they aren't even the most expensive I've seen.

I will be moving to the area and working at LRMC this summer. I am currently looking at new mountain bikes and am considering 29ers vs. full supension rides. I was wondering what seems to fit the local riding the best. I welcome any and all viewpoints. I am primarily a road rider/racer/duathlete, but plan to increase my mountain miles in Europe. Thanks.

My first impressions:

1) What a steady work-out. It's nice to keep the heart rate up, but not through the roof, for upwards of an hour without stop.

2) Yes, you really CAN go 35kph on the flats, and YES it is fun!!!!

Starting from town center of Queidersbach on Thursdays at 1730 sharp. This is a mostly German group, but they are all super nice, and one of the leaders owns a bike shop which is always good to know. All paces welcome, and it never wonders to far from the start, making a loop around town. Distance is about 10km.

Road back to the room while riding back we decided to do a triathlon swim 400 meter ride 20km and run 4.2km. Started at 9am with a temp of 80 when all complete it was over 90. I can't remember that last time I went swimming or ran for that matter. Can't wait to get back and ride with the RACC. 6 Weeks to go.
