Fox Float RL "stuck down"--need rebuild kit

Post by gsmolin on Mon May 17, 2010 5:18 pm

Does anyone know where to get an air sleeve rebuild kit for a Fox Float RL? I was riding to work and my 4.5 inches of travel went down to 0.5 inches, and after some perusing on mtbr.com and Fox's website, the shock is stuck down and rebuilding it seems to do the trick.

Would Frank's be the most likely place to have a rebuild kit? I was by the KMCC and wasted my time asking outdoor rec; called that Radsport Wolf place in L-stuhl and they were no help either.

I'm kind of in a hurry to find the kit; its either rebuild the shock by Sat or do the Sembach duathlon on my SS, which itself is somewhat tempting....

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks,
-George

Toxoholics in Rodalben is probably going to be your best bet. Their webpage is http://toxoholics.de/

I haven't personally used them but I know some people on this board have. Good luck.

Toxoholics is a good bet. Dont know how long it would take.

I was in Franks about two months ago and his wife was telling me that their mech. was just certified and that they were going to start servicing Fox shocks. I would call Franks first. Good luck.

You could also try Conrads in KL. They are a pretty big shop. http://www.conrad-fahrradladen.de/html/00frame.htm

I bought a rebuild kit through Frank last summer. He ordered from the fox place in Rodalben and, if I remember correctly, it arrived the next day after order. I'm sure he could hook it up really fast if you need it by the weekend.

Thanks everyone; my wife went by and got a rebuild kit from Toxoholics (which she described as an "interesting experience"). I'll give it a go tonite on the rebuild.
