Recurring Rides List
RACC and other recurring rides (as of 7 Jan 2008)... Also available on the calendar with more information.
MTB
Summer RACC Rides
Tuesday @ Landstuhl Castle Parking lot @ 1800
Thursday @ Gelterswoog Parking lot @ 1800
Sunday @ Trail TBD (check calendar) @ 1000
Fall/Winter RACC Rides
Night Ride @ Gelterswoog every Wednesday @ 1800
Sunday @ Trail TBD (check calendar) @ 1000
Roadies
Spring / Summer RACC Rides
Tues & Thurs Ramstein Lunchtime Ride: Ramstein Southside Gym
Other Winter Ride
For those of you who want to do some good quality road winter training join the local racers for the sat and sun rides. These rides are usually
2.5-3 hours long, average about 29-33 kmph, double paceline the whole way, and be sure to have FULL fenders if it rains so the guy behind doesn't get soaked (otherwise you'll be relegated to the rear of the paceline for the duration). Unless it is a straight-up blizzard, about 10-20 riders will show up. We had a mini peloton rollin down the road on one ocasion, 40 riders! This is a good way to get fast!
Saturday: 1300 hrs at the "Schweinstal" parking lot. Corner of B-270 and Krickenbach turn.
Sunday: 1030 hrs at the Landstuhl Esso station.
Be punctual, they don't wait...

Re: Recurring Rides List
Just a quick note we have a post about recurring rides... just in case you don't see it on the calendar.
Also every has the ability to post to the calendar. There is an extra step, not just making a new post, but there are instructions at the top of the forum...

Tues. castle ride
Couple of quick questions: the tuesday ride from the castle leaves from the parking lot up on top nearest the castle, correct? And, what's the quickest way to get there by bike coming from Ramstein Village, so once you cross by the 6, is there a direct trail/weg to the parking lot?
Thanks, just got into town a week or so ago, haven't had much time to scout the area.

Re: Recurring Rides List
Turn left at the light by the Esso station, ride through town to the Schloss Hotel and go straight up the hill behind it.

Re: Recurring Rides List
Hi! I'm new to this. Are you guys still holding regular rides on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday? Specifically regarding Sunday do you just post them on the calendar? Are they consistent or hit or miss? Thanks!

Re: Recurring Rides List
We have only been doing the Tuesday and Thursday rides. If you want to do a Sunday ride, post it and see if anyone would like to join you, or keep checking to see if anyone else post a ride for Sunday.
Welcome to the RACC!

Re: Recurring Rides List
Welcome to the RACC! Some of use try to do a road ride early on Sat or Sun so we can spend time with the famy. If you post a ride it's always best to post the start time, location, time or distance that want to ride and pace. Hope to see you on one of this weekend rides.
Re: Recurring Rides List
I googled Gelterswoog and this is the address I came up with Gelterswoog Haus Nr.1 67661 Kaiserslautern to get a GPS coordinate. Does anyone know if that looks right (or have a better address to plug in)? Thanks!
