Calling all geeks...
I want to buy a PDA or pocket PC, but I am looking at so many options my brain is fried. I don't want to get a phone with a contract. Maybe someone can recommend one. Here is what I want included:
WIFI (for Skype, Hotmail etc.)
Expandable memory (SD card)
Camera
ability to play/upload/store mp3
ability to play/upload/store movies
user ability to change battery
GPS
Any help is appreciated!

Don't... a PDA will reduce you ability to think... If you want a MP3, movie, etc player then of course get on the band wagon and get an iTouch. I personally think they are over priced and over rated.
The first question I would ask you is "How much you willing to spend?" $$$'s and/or €€€'s

How about an unlocked iphone? It would have everything but expandable SD storage...any experience w/this?
Less dough would be better, but 3-4 bills

iPhone - I don't have first hand experience, but knowing a few who have them... only one person I know uses a majority of the capabilities it has. 3-4 bills is gonna get you middle of the high road. Now for the phone to work world wide you will need a quad band... now we are starting rack up the bills...
Storage - The thing with these type of phones is you won't be able to store a whole lot on them... 8GB - 16GB of space for music, pic, vid's etc. All pending on the type of expandability; 8GB is the norm for space. iPhone comes in 8,16, and 32GB I believe; each one being more expensive than the other. Over priced and over rated. Get an iPod if you want portable music.
GPS... you will have to buy the maps an they are expensive, unless you have a smart g33k to get you the notsofree ones (I do not endorse downloading copyrighted material). Sorry, but they do not come with anything significant, maybe a basic map with main roads only. Again if to be world wide capable it's gonna to cost you a bit more... F the GPS in my opinion if you already have one; update the mas
So by this point you're probably thinking... "Rick you ain't no Fing help..." Your right though, I'm just being realistic. My wife wanted a phone just like you wanted. Went to Saturn and it was going to cost over $800 to get it loaded up to what both of us wanted (this included GPS, but not in English). F THAT! Let's be realistic about this, "he who has the big toys also pays the biggest bill." All these extras and niceties that you probably won't even use cost money to have and to use... internet, GPS, weather, etc etc etc...
So I say go with the iPhone is that is your flavor... it has a touch screen, it has a camera, it plays video's, music, interent, and I believe the current generation has GPS capabilities, but F that if you can find a wireless access point to search Google. It can also act like a PDA, just don't store critical information on it and sell to a pawn shop
I just upgraded my phone recently... Free.99... actually my wifes hand me down Motorola Razor. My previous phone did everything I needed it to... make phone calls. This phone does even more, but really the only thing I wanted it for was the camera. I can put mp3's on it, but I have a iPod for that.
I can provide more links, but this is a good place to start for unlocked phone...

Re: Calling all geeks...
I have the iPhone and it it awesome. As a matter of fact I even put it through an entire laundry cycle the other day and it lived to make calls another day. The thing is amazing.
In Italy, they sell them unlocked without a contract. You could get one and then bring it back to use here. The problem with getting one that some random dude unlocked means that you won't be able to get Apple software updates in the future. These updates will render the phone useless.
