I decided to see why the rear wheel of my 9.8 was flexing some much when I hammered the pedal...which was resulting in the cassestte rubbing the inside of the dropouts.....well I think the hole worn though the chainstay may have had something to do with it....third 9.8 back to the factory in five years....go Trek!!! The Homegrown is 9 years old and going strong !!!!

How the hell did a hole get worn through? The hole is pretty far forward , what was causing it? That's crazy.........Steel is REAL!

Its from where the chain rubbed the chain stay when I was cranking on the peddles....when it came it had a protective shield covering tha area but that fell off about a week after I got it...we'll see about replacement...if not oh no I'm down to four MTB.....
