Finacial woes for Astana
Well it looks as if the hard hitting financial firestorm is affecting Astana as well. http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/cycling/news/story?id=4145429
Looks like UCI president Pat McQuaid is working with them to see what will happen, but in other reports they have a deadline of 31 May to fix it. It also looks like LA is looking into sponsors to take over, mainly LAF but the non-profit sise of it is going to make it hard, "While as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Lance Armstrong Foundation would not be able to fund the day-to-day operational expenses of a for-profit endeavor". I hope they can resolve it, I would love to see LA, Levi, and Chris come off of the TT ramp in Monaco in July.

Re: Finacial woes for Astana
Lance has a enough personal $$$$$. Why don't he buy his own team? If Michael Ball can operate Rock Racing why not Lance? The problem for cycling is .... no "smart" large corporation is going to invest their image to a sport that is recieving all the negitive news and coverage thanks to the "Dopers"! The idea that Lance would take his non-profit organization and sponsor a pro cycling team is ludicrous. To risk the great strides his organization has made and sponsor a sport as volatile as cycling is way to big of a risk.

Non-prof can't sponsor a for-profit. Doesn't matter though, how about Nike, Oakley, Trek etc. etc. etc. Always been doping always will be doping, in EVERY sport. I TRY to just sit back and watch who the best doper is
