Is there anyway we can work a road bike / mtb combo into the mix?

The chain ring on mine is from a road bike Smile

I thought that it was kind of universal. Everybody has a chain ring, the boar goes back to the old jersey, and I think we all like beer.

Do you have some ideas? What would make it more roadie? These are all just suggestions we haven't decided yet.

Not a fan of the boar. Not really sure what that has to do with Ramstein or Germany. I am a huge fan of the Bundesadler which is the German coat of arms.

I found this onlie, it is the coat of arms for the landkreis Kaiserlautern. It is made up of parts of the coat of arms from Ramstein, Landstuhl and Kaiserslauetrn.

If 05 was the year it started raining about 9:00, that was the year I did it. Nothing says fun like riding in a paceline at 25mph with 100 folks that have never ridden a paceline or even that fast for that matter. Lots of bad crashes in the first 30 miles if I remember right. I am pretty sure I never even rode the whole day with the wind in my face. Guys would get to the front and stay there forever. Then someone else would fight for the same privelage. I litterally sat in for the whole ride.

If we decide we want to use it, we will have to change it. From what I have read online it would be illegal to use it in the form it is in. I was thinking we could go back to the chain ring and tweak it a little and still have all of the symbols in the design. If anybody out there has the computer skill and mess around with, go to http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_Wappen_im_Landkreis_Kaiserslautern
and you should be able to find plenty of pics to play with.

The coat of arms is a cool piece to work with. How do people feel about using military service symbols in the design?

I think it would be cool if we could take parts of the army and AF seal and work it into the KL coat of arms above.

I think we should have the emblems of all the services. I also like the boar. Since it is the RACC, the shirt should have some references to the area.

Wow, we're just going for all the copyright violations aren't we? Better make it a very loose representation of the US Military or we'll never get it cleared (force protection is still real and we're still in a foreign country, and you still have to get any use of the military logos cleared before using). We submitted a design for a sweatshirt almost a year ago and we're still waiting for clearance, all that had on it was the Landstuhl hospital logo.

Good Point!!! Although, we can come up with our own interpretation of Mil logo's...meaning if something is left out or modified it's not copyright infringement...but, I'd rather leave the Mil out of it and just be ourselves...

Some good points about use of the military logos. I don't feel that strongly about having them in there, although I would argue that many of us feel that the military IS part of who we are...especially overseas. I assume everyone has seen the jersey before the current design...not much hiding our identity as Americans there. Hopefully we can hammer out the details at the meeting next week.
